problem customer
There has been this guy that has tanned her for a while on and off. He is a chronic complainer. The overhead light is too bright or he dosent want to be too dark,lotion is expensive..ect ect.. When he walks in the door my girls feel like they are walking on glass just to keep him happy and even go as far as giving him personal lotion to use. He has even complained on one of my best and most bubbly employee saying that she was unpleasant and even went as far as telling the employee that was helping him that the girl he thought was umpleasant has a big gut. So here is where the big problem started. he came in one evening last week after we had taken our last tanner the closed sign was down and one of the girls that was working apologized and told him he was not able to tan and he started going off and cursing at her and left. He called our other location complaing anbout it saying that the girl who helped him was a ***** and a bad rep of the salon because she is too dark and looks fake. I have called and left messages to speak with him but he does not want to speak with me he wants to go straight to the owner. He wanted his account cancelled the night of the incedent and I just want to tell him after his last day that he is no longer to tan here. How would you handle this??????

Let him talk to the owner. In my salons we always document this sort of thing so that if it comes down to this, the owner already has a heads up in case the customer tries to make up stories. I say good riddance. His whatever he is paying a month is not worth the stress he is putting on you, your employees, and the company. Especially since you are all breaking your backs to make him happy.

i have/had a customer (she hasnt tanned in months) who it least once every two weeks calls me and asks me to borrow money or just stops in and asks to borrow money. this has been going on for the past three months. i am at my wits end. i would love to tell her to get the **** out but she is 3xxxxxx my size and clearly on drugs, i'd rather not get my a$$ beat... but she stresses me out to the point i can vomit... so, now what? P.s cops are useless. they dont consider this harassment.

Ban him from your salon,if your really worried that he may not take you seriously,take a trip down to your local police dept.File a report of harrasment,tell them he threatened your business and if he comes into the salon again you are going to call them to have him removed from the premisis.(detrimental to operating your business).
The police will put a scare into him and he will more than likely find another salon to tan at.If he bothers to tell any other salon owners of his incident,he will only appear as a potential troublemaker,pretty much puts a red flag up for him. Since its your word versus theirs,theres nothing the police can do.At least you let this guy know you mean business.My customers know i have a blacklist.lol |

There is a point when a customer becomes a bad customer. Individual incidents are one thing, but constant dissatisfaction is another thing.
I had some rough around the edge customers that you learn to work with and they can be very nice. But some people can never be pleased.

yepper. I NEVER EVER LENT HER A PENNY THO! she asked anywhere from $5 to $500 repeatedly. she needs hellp payin her "cell phone, car loan, cigarettes, utilities,etc." this lady used to drive a fork lift for a living, she is a big big broad.
